An Afternoon in the Sun
On Tuesday 2 August, the Community Kitchen Garden was buzzing with gardeners who came together to socialise, share their gardening experience and cooking skills. Gardeners enjoyed an afternoon munching on some tasty Caribbean food as well as food made by residents using ingredients from the garden. The Community Gardener, Emma Sampson, was also on hand to provide advice and help the gardeners plant up a new communal strawberry plot. The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all those who attended and is the first of many to come.
Resident, Rachael Defoe is a great supporter of Community Kitchen Garden: “I have never had a garden but really enjoy gardening. This gives me a chance to get some outdoor space and enjoy fresh air. Very practical and I enjoy making something from nothing.”
There are a few plots still available. If you live on Wornington Green and would like to find out more about the community kitchen garden, please contact Patricia Poorman on 020 8964 6433.
