In summary, the blocks will be built in the following sequence:
Block 1, which will provide 69 new homes for existing residents, will be completed by March 2013 with residents able to move in from January 2013, so only a year away!
Block 3, which will provide 65 new homes, will be completed by March 2014 with residents able to move in from January 2014.
Block 2, which will provide 65 new homes for existing residents, will be completed by March 2015 with residents able to move in from January 2015.
Ardmore continues to make good progress on site despite having to deal with some very wet weather. Block 1, nearest to Wornington Road, is almost at its full height and work has now started on the internal fit out. Close behind this are the mews houses which are now out of the ground with the dividing walls starting to go up.
We will soon be starting work on the next block. When it begins, you will see that it is very similar to the work currently being undertaken – creating new foundations to take the concrete frame on top. To do this, we will be moving the hoardings to allow work to progress.
The site compound will be moving to enable us to speed up the build programme for Block 3. The new location for the site compound will be the contractors’ car park off Wornington Road. We will also be using part of the skate park because the car park is not large enough to house the site compound.
Residents living close to the new site compound have been informed about the impending move and we have also agreed a number of health and safety measures with the Venture Centre to ensure the building can be quickly and safely evacuated in case of emergency.
We have started to look at Phase 2 of the regeneration. We are looking at a number of options based on the existing masterplan. It is likely that Phase 2 will increase in size to enable us to move more people into their new homes more quickly. We also want to complete as much of the new park as we can as soon as possible. Hopefully before the end of the year we will be able to share our revised plans with you and discuss next steps.
